Response to the site

The project is for a new library in Asnaes, a town of 25,000 inhabitants, located 150kms south west of Copenhagen .

The library is 1600m2 and consists of a public foyer, community hall, public meeting rooms, and a library.
The building is to be located in the middle of the town on an empty site with a fall of 3 metres .
A small park is to be constructed in front of the building.
The building and park is intended to be the centrepiece for the town's new civic centre, and to link with the existing art museum, church and commercial shopping centre.
The park is design to be for passive recreational use, and a place for display of outdoor sculptures by local artists.
